  1. Bart,
If i want to book a room for my colleague i just enter his name as second guest? Is it a problem if he arrives with his wife :)? Thx

  2. I just stayed in dusseldorf and oberhausen this weekend. You can get a sticker for 10 euro in a Dekra station. I got mine on our way to dusseldorf in Venlo. I stayed at Melia dusseldorf because i didn’t knew about the blog on the time of booking but was a very nice hotel.

  3. No 2-4-1 availablility any more on those dates unfortunately. I will stay at HIE Utrecht instead…
    Have fun! 🙂

  4. Bart waar vind ik alle hotels die mee doen aan de 2-4-1 actie? Zit de indigo ondertussen vol voor deze rating?

    • Ken, there’s no list, but 2-for-1 is limited to European IHG hotels. You need to check using the 2-for-1 link for each individual hotel. Inventory changes on daily basis, so the rate may come and go. The 2-4-1 rate requires you to book at least 5 days in advance.

  5. Bart, are you sure the 2-for-1 rate are a qualifying rate for “The Big Win”?
IHG Care told me it is not. :\
    Confused here…….

  6. And additional info: parking in the car parks in DUS is extremely expensive. Parking on the street is cheaper, but it is not always easy to find a parking spot. You do not have to pay on Sundays if you park in the street (at least where we were),

  7. You indeed need the special environmental sticker if you are entering the DUS city center. Now the question is whether the hotel is within that zone, but I would think it is, given the hotel location.

FYI: you can buy these stickers online, but that is expensive and you need to do this on time because it can take a while. It is not always easy to get them at the other official sales points (due to opening hours, …) but an official dealership of your car brand can sell them to you as well. Just make sure you have the official registration documents with you. If you are driving a company car, check this, as some companies withhold these documents from their drivers for security reasons.

  8. Bart,

Waar ga je je wagen parkeren ginder en heb je geen milieusticker nodig voor Dusseldorf?

    • Geert, still need to figure that out. On my last visit, I parked at the airport as I was flying from DUS. I might also fly or go by train from BRU.

  9. Bart, I can be there on the 20th but need to leave on the 21st. Will that have ant impact on the run? Frankly I haven’t done any IHG run in a while so I don’t think I have any points there currently.
It’s an opportunity to mingle with you guys so See u there.

    • I suggest we do the check-out for you on Sunday morning if you want to use the 2-for-1 rate (and need the credit for the Big Win) You can also decide just to book Friday night. All up to you, this is just an informal #TravelMagic meet-up. 🙂
