For my first night in KL, I booked a Deluxe room MYR325 (€84) at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur.  It was easy and cheap to get from KUL airport to the hotel: KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral station, LRT Kelana Jaya line to Ampang Park station and a 3 minute walk.  Upon arrival at the hotel, I was escorted to the Executive Lounge for check-in.

As Hilton HHonors Gold member, I was upgraded to an Executive room.  It had the same layout as a Deluxe room but was located on one of the higher floors and came with access to the Executive lounge where I could enjoy complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails.
