Exactly three years ago, I was in Beijing for the Opening Ceremony of my second Olympics. Working as a volunteer at the Aquatic Centre during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games had been an
amazing experience, so I couldn’t miss the Games in China either. They turned out to be another ‘Once in a Lifetime Experience’. No wonder the
London 2012 and
Rio 2016 Olympic Games are already on my travel agenda. Last month, I scored a 99 euro
Eurostar return ticket Brussels – London for the Olympic Opening Weekend July 27 – July 29, 2012. The hunt for a hotel room is on. 🙂

Hi Susie, thanks for your comment. Well, you need to register with the organizing Olympic Committee to be selected as volunteer. You need to sign-up two years in advance or so, too late for London 2012 now. Keep an eye on the Rio 2016 site!
Thanks for the information. I’m going to register although 2016 is a long time to wait. Your blog pictures are absolutely gorgeous. Keep up the great work!
Cool, how do you become a volunteer for the Aquatic Centre during the Olympics?
