My one night stay at InterContinental Paris Le Grand in March of this year was one of the most impressive room upgrades I ever got.  I had booked a classic room and was upgraded to the Royal Opera Suite (2100)  Initially I had only access to the bedroom and bathroom of the Suite, but when I returned to the room in the late afternoon, I found the door opened to the full Suite.  Handwritten welcome cards of the Marketing Manager, Hotel Manager and General Manager were placed on the table of Royal Suite Lounge area.  The Marketing Manager wrote they were delighted about my “great tweets” and “to ensure you even have more opportunities to share your experience at Le Grand, I have asked housekeeping to open the door to the full suite and extended Club access on the 5th Floor”.  Incredible how much value Twitter has produced for me in the past four years!
